- Unique standing pose in 3rd person. You also step back into this pose after you stop walking.
- Attack animations, and a Lunge animation when using the Lunge enchantment.
- A fatigued animation plays when the spear is held for too long, before lowering.
- A new jousting animation and pose when riding the horse whilst using a spear. The same animation applies to mobs that can ride horses whilst holding a spear.
- Zombies and Husks now use a new attack animation when holding a spear. Their first strike uses the spear itself, and if they land a follow-up hit quickly, they switch to an offhand swing for the second attack.
Nautilus
- Textures for the Nautilus, Zombie Nautilus, and Zombie Coral Nautilus.
- Custom 3D armour.
- Two ride animations which are used depending on the Nautilus’ state. The player will swim on top while underwater, or sit on top when near to the water’s surface. Some items also trigger the sitting pose underwater. A transition animation blends between the two states.
- Riding animations for the player which bank side-to-side, as well as up and down. The Nautilus’ beak also reacts to turning.
- Leg kicking animation when swimming with the Nautilus which reacts to movement speed.

New Content
Snowy mob variants
Many mobs now appear with a snow covered texture when spawned in a cold biomes. You can also use the nametags Snowy or Frosty. See the nametags section for details on all of the affected mobs.
<aside>
Snowy Feet & Boots
When running on snow, your skin’s feet will gain a snowy overlay texture. The overlay is also applied if you’re wearing boots. Snowy feet is currently not available on console as it does not work with persona or character creator skins. (However Snowy boots do work!)
Snowy Footprints
Footprints are now left in the snow as you walk, lasting for about 10 seconds before fading. After stepping in snow, you’ll briefly leave small snowy patches on regular ground as your feet “track” the snow. Currently, this only works on Snow Layers, but we will implement it for Snow Blocks and other block types at a later date.
5 Costumes
Leather armour can now be transformed into themed costumes by applying specific armour trims. Each trim swaps the leather piece into its matching costume set. Time to head out and track down those trims!
- Rana Puffercoat: Shaper Trim - Found in Trail Ruins
- Elf Attire: Wild Trim Found in Jungle Temples
- Santa Getup: Snout Trim - Found in Bastions
- Viking Armour: Rib Trim - Found in Nether Fortresses
- Actions & Stuff Party Set: Host Trim - Found in Ocean Monuments
- Costumes can also be placed on to mobs (Such as a Zombie) by using a dispenser.
Misc.
- First-person armour: You will now see your equipped chestplate while attacking and performing other animations in first person. This applies only to chestplate armour. Note: Dyed leather armour currently appears in its undyed form. Costumes will not display in first person.
- Snow Layer Height Increase: Your feet will now stand on top of the Snow Layer block rather than sinking 2 pixels inside of it. This improvement makes the Snowy Feet & Boots look better, as well as avoids clipping.
- Armour Height Increase: When wearing boots, your character will be a pixel taller in height. This improvement makes it so boots no longer clip into the ground, but rather stand on the ground correctly.
- Goat Horn Variant: Goats now have 8 horn variations, 4 large and 4 small. There’s an 80% chance they’ll have small horns and a 20% chance they’ll have large horns.
- Re-textured Frozen UI texture when standing inside of Powder Snow.
- Added two new biome-specific animations to the idle animation pool:
- In warm biomes, the player appears tired and drops their shoulders.
- In cold biomes, the player shivers and rubs their shoulder. Wearing leather armour provides warmth and prevents this animation from playing.
- Signs have been made pixel accurate. In Vanilla they are 12px, but they should be 8px.
- Added pixel accurate face to the Snow Golem. It use to be 16px and it is now 12. It looks much cuter!
- Added stem and leaf to the top of the Snow Golem head.
- Added empty horse saddle slot UI texture.
- Added fish, ride and mount button UI textures for pocket edition.
- Added Mooshroom Tails.
- Added pixel-accurate Magma Cube and Slime texture.
- Added NPC spawn egg. This was previously not possible, but now is.

- Spears do not play spin sound in first person with Vibrant Visuals enabled. There is currently a bug with audio playing twice in first person VV due to the game processing the your shadow as a duplicate player.

Vibrant Visuals
PBR Textures
In Actions & Stuff 1.8 we have added support for Minecraft Vibrant Visuals. This means we had to create PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures for every block, entity & 3D item to make things work with the new lighting system.
PBR consists of 4 values which are important to make things work. Those values are Metalness, Emission, Roughness and Subsurface. We also made use of Normal Maps to add extra detail to our textures.
Metalness and Roughness control the surface look of blocks and entities. These values range from very rough, which result in things looking matte under sunlight, all the way down to no roughness which creates reflections on blocks and makes things shiny. Metalness is usually combined together with low roughness values to create more reflective look and give that sheen on top that metal objects tend to have.
![]()
Emission values allow us to make things glow during night or dark lighting conditions. Vibrant Visuals allowed us to add many more emissive effects to blocks which was previously not quite possible in the Fancy Graphics Mode.
![]()
![]()
Subsurface scattering is a very unique property. It allows light to go through objects and bounce around, then reflect back to the camera. This creates an effect of certain objects being illuminated near the edges, creating much softer and fluffy look to given materials. We used this property on many of the textures in the pack to give them some extra flare.
![]()
Normal Maps are used to add details to objects without using additional geometry, but rather create an illusion by making bumps and dents that react to lighting.
Height Maps in Minecraft are very high resolution normal maps which are locked to the pixel grid. By varying the strength of the normal map it creates an illusion of stronger or weaker embossed effect. This makes the pixels stick out, or pull in.
We can (for the most part), only use one of these two rendering options, and we chose to go with Normal Maps, we found that our texturing style being more simplistic than vanilla Minecraft made some really harsh transitions and effects on the textures with height map applied. Height maps are ideal for more noisy texture styles where those harsh transitions aren’t as noticeable. If we are able to support both settings in the future, we will do so!
![]()
If you take a closer look at the top of the furnace and bricks you will notice how some of the shapes on the texture have the subtle orange light hitting them and creating blue shadows on the opposite side.
In the Full Experience (64x), we added custom PBR textures to entities, items, blocks, and particles.
In the Vanilla Experience (32x), we added custom PBR textures to custom 3D items only. All other aspects of the vanilla experience are using vanilla PBR textures.
In the Custom Experience (16x), everything uses vanilla PBR textures.
Biome Atmospherics and Custom Skyboxes
Every biome has been carefully fine-tuned to have its own mood. The colour of the skybox, sunlight, fog and colour grading have all been tweaked.
Custom biome atmposherics and skyboxes are available on the Full Experience (64x) only. The other two subpack options will use the vanilla vibrant visuals biome atmospherics and skyboxes.
Stylised Water
Water with Vibrant Visuals now looks more fresh then ever. We added custom wave effects to make it feel more dynamic as opposed to stationary water in fancy graphics. Vibrant visuals also allows us to customize water caustics so we made a custom animation for that to match Actions and Stuff style.
Custom stylised water is available on the Full Experience (64x) only. The other two subpack options will use the vanilla vibrant visuals water.
Additions
Added sound effects to campfire props.
Added a sound effect when a player spawns in the world.
Changes
Reverted the fire overlay to the pre-1.5 overlay. The custom overlay was causing issues while playing in vibrant visuals. We are looking at revisiting this feature, and may change it again if we find a solution that works on both fancy/simple graphics and vibrant visuals.
Reworked the texture of magma cube.
Retextured several vanilla particles to give them a nicer cleaner look. (Potion swirls, villager hurt hears, torch and furnace flames).
Changed fogs while playing in fancy and simple graphics to be less thick. In order to make vibrant visuals look the best it can be, we had to also adjust the fogs while playing in fancy and simple graphics as we cannot detect when fancy/simple graphics or vibrant visuals is being used to change fogs.
Bug Fixes
Fixed material/texture issues on many different entities when entering a world that disables vibrant visuals. No more red coloured dogs or sheep without eyes!
Fixed broken vanilla UV mapping on torches and cocoa beans. They should align to the pixel properly now just as expected!
Fixed transparent UV gaps on the lantern blocks.
Fixed the walk animation while playing in first person and holding a map.
Added proper geometry for the piglin copper helmet, it will no longer clip into their head.
Fixed z-fighting on the trident while playing in 64x.
Fixed the throw animation not playing correctly after throwing a projectile twice.
Fixed incorrect UV on the piglin mob head ear.

- Fixed Z-fighting on the shield when using a small-arms skin, exposing the interior side of the handle.
- Fixed 3rd person Crawling animation when holding an item that raise your hand in 3rd person, such as the Lantern, and the Torch.
