Interactive Player Shops by Coreveil Studios​

Turn ordinary chests and barrels into player-owned shops. Let customers buy and sell items through simple clicks and chat-based quantity input, with floating product displays, automatic holograms, and clear transaction receipts.

Easy Trading​

No browsing through shop menus—customers interact directly with the shop.

Quantity requests expire after 30 seconds by default. The maximum quantity is configurable, up to 2,304 items per transaction.

Before completing a trade, the plugin checks the shop’s availability, permissions, stock, inventory space, and payment coverage. Large transactions can require an additional confirmation.

Customers receive a receipt showing the product, quantity, transaction ID, and the total amount deducted from or added to their balance.

Three Trading Modes​

Configure each shop independently:

• BUY ONLY: customers can purchase items from the shop.
• SELL ONLY: customers can sell items to the shop owner.
• BUY & SELL: both directions are available.

Trading directions are always described from the customer’s perspective. Setting a price to 0 also disables that direction.

Floating Product Displays​

Show the product above the chest or barrel with a floating and rotating display.

• Works with or without a glass case.
• Automatically positions the product for the selected setup.
• Configurable animation speed, floating height, and display scale.
• Decorative displays cannot be picked up as items.
• Uses modern display entities where available, with a legacy fallback for older versions.

The owner can remove the glass case without deleting the shop, provided region protection allows it.

Automatic Holograms​

Give customers the information they need before trading:

• Product name
• Buy and sell prices
• Current stock and capacity
• Shop owner
• Open or closed state
• Active trading mode
• Relevant click controls

Hologram height automatically adjusts around the display case and the product’s movement range. Text, colors, spacing, and visibility settings are configurable.

ItemsAdder & Oraxen Integration​

Trade custom items using optional ItemsAdder and Oraxen integrations.

CvChestShop recognizes supported custom item IDs and preserves the saved item’s metadata, including names, lore, enchantments, persistent data, and model-related information.

Matching an item ID alone is not enough. Full item metadata must also match, helping prevent a differently modified item from being exchanged for the shop’s product.

To create a custom item shop, hold the actual custom item and use the normal shop creation command.

Compatible external plugin versions and their resource packs must be installed separately. After changes to custom item definitions, the shop’s saved product sample may need to be recreated.

Owner Management​

Shop owners can:

• Set purchase and sale prices.
• Change the trading mode.
• Open or close their shops.
• Manage the real container inventory.
• View their shops and transaction history.
• Receive sale and purchase notifications.
• Receive alerts for empty stock or insufficient purchasing funds.

Offline notifications are saved and delivered when the owner returns. Ordinary customers cannot open another player’s shop management menu or stock inventory.

Protection & Transaction Logging​

CvChestShop includes:

• Owner checks for player-created shops.
• Optional WorldGuard 7 build and interaction checks.
• Protection against unauthorized stock access.
• Blocked hopper transfers involving registered shops.
• Protection against normal destruction, explosions, and piston movement.
• Configurable shop limits and interaction distance.
• Persistent shop data and transaction journals.

If a transaction has an uncertain outcome, trading pauses for manual investigation. A console-only recovery command acknowledges an issue after an administrator has reconciled the balances and items.

WorldGuard is the supported region-protection integration. Other claim plugins do not have dedicated adapters. Direct world editing and other plugins can bypass normal block-event protections.

Admin Shops​

Create unlimited-stock admin shops for server-managed trading.

In admin mode:

• Customer purchases withdraw money without crediting a normal shop owner.
• Customer sales deposit money without requiring owner funds.
• The physical container stock is not consumed or increased.

Admin shops intentionally create or remove items and currency as part of server administration.

Installation​

1. Stop the server and create a backup.
2. Install Vault and a compatible economy provider.
3. Select the JAR for your exact server version.
4. Place only that one JAR in the plugins folder.
5. Start the server and check the console.
6. Configure the plugin and test trading with two players.

Vault alone is not an economy system.

Create Your First Shop​

Place an empty single chest or barrel yourself, hold the product, look at the container, and run:

/cvs create 10 5
This sets:

• Customer purchase price: 10 per item
• Customer sale payment: 5 per item

Fill the container through your stock inventory, then let another player test the shop. Double chests are not supported.

Commands​

The current plugin uses /cvshop, with /cvs as its alias.

Console-only recovery:

cvshop recover <transaction-UUID> resolved
This command does not refund money or restore items automatically.

Permissions​

Shop menus and stock access remain owner-only. Administrative permission does not grant access to another owner’s GUI.

The plugin includes configurable messages, English and Hungarian language options, legacy color codes, and HEX colors.

For custom translations, copy the relevant source and text entries from the supplied language examples into messages.yml.

Requirements & Compatibility​

Required:

• A compatible Bukkit-based Java server
• Vault
• A compatible economy provider

Optional:

• WorldGuard 7
• ItemsAdder
• Oraxen
• The corresponding custom item resource packs

The package contains 34 separately compiled JARs targeting versions from 1.16.5 through 26.3. Select the exact version listed in the included compatibility document.

• 26.1: no JAR included.
• 26.1.1: compiled against an alpha API.
• Folia: support is not claimed.
• External plugins have their own Minecraft and Java requirements.

Compilation and automated tests do not establish live compatibility with every server and integration version.

Updating​

Stop the server, back up the world and the complete plugins/CvShop folder, then replace the old JAR with the correct new one.

Keep the configuration, shop data, and transaction journals. Do not leave multiple CvShop JARs installed. Do not transfer item data saved on a newer Minecraft version back to an older server.

Frequently Asked Questions​

Do customers need to open a menu?
No. They click the shop and enter a quantity in chat. A confirmation dialog may appear for transactions above the configured threshold.

Can I trade with my own shop?
Normal shops require another player for real trading. Owners manage their stock directly. Admin shops permit self-testing.

Does the product require a glass case?
No. The floating display works with or without glass.

Does it work without ItemsAdder or Oraxen?
Yes. Both integrations are optional; ordinary items work without them.

Does it support MySQL, auctions, or a global server-shop catalogue?
No. This release focuses on chest and barrel shops.
